Continuing with this Spring's recurring consideration of book history, archives, and bibliography, the NYU Modern and Contemporary Colloquium warmly invites you to join us via Zoom for our last event of the season—a lecture by Professor Dirk Van Hulle entitled "Genetic Criticism: Exploring Creative Ecologies." Professor Van Hulle's talk shall walk us through the concerns of manuscript genetics today with particular attention paid to James Joyce and Samuel Beckett.
Dirk Van Hulle is Professor of Bibliography and Modern Book History at the University of Oxford, chair of the Oxford Centre for Textual Editing at the University of Antwerp. Co-director of the Beckett Digital Manuscript Project—which won the MLA's 2019 Prize for a Bibliography, Archive or Digital Project—as well as editor-in-chief of the Journal of Beckett Studies, he has published many books that have shaped contemporary Genetic Studies and Beckett criticism alike.
