As the semester ends, many of us ask: why do we work so much? For the final Marxism Working Group meeting of the spring, we'll read excerpts from a contemporary classic statement of antiwork politics: Kathi Weeks, The Problem with Work: Feminism, Marxism, Antiwork Politics, and Postwork Imaginaries (2011). Weeks asks us to imagine a world beyond the capitalist workplace, and shows why "postwork futures" matter for Marxist feminism. New and returning participants are always welcome!
To RSVP and to receive copies of the readings, e-mail Colin Vanderburg, Guilherme Meyer, or EG Asher.
