The financial economics field is intended to help students begin the study of asset markets, corporate finance, and financial intermediation. What you learn in financial economics can be applied in fields such as macroeconomics, econometrics, international economics, the theory of the firm, and regulation and welfare economics.
Any NYU doctoral students interested in learning more about the financial economics field is invited to come to an informal wine and cheese gathering on Tuesday, September 13th from 5:00 to 6:00 in Room 831. Sydney C. Ludvigson and Jarda Borovicka will be there to tell you about the courses they are offering and answer any questions you might have. You can also meet the other students who are thinking of taking the field.
