Dr. Eric Hodges is a C2F Postdoctoral Researcher at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand. He graduated in 2017 with a PhD in East Asian Studies from New York University and focuses on the intersections of Chinese, Japanese, and German literature, philosophy, and religion. He has since taught Chinese and Japanese comparative literature at Queens College, City University of New York and New York University, and British and American literature at Renmin University of China.
The two postdoctoral research projects Dr. Hodges is working on are metamorphosis in the Ming dynasty novel Journey to the West and the use of allegory and animal imagery in Nietzsche’s Thus Spoke Zarathustra and Lu Xun’s “Diary of a Madman.”
