- To be eligible to compete in Chinese Language Speech Competition, a contestant must:
- Be an EAS Chinese class student in 2023 Spring semester
- Not be a winner of a previous Chinese Language Speech Competition
Topic of Speech
Contestants are free to speak on any topic of their choice. However, speech content which discriminates against a particular section of a community or is politically motivated may result in a disqualification or reduction of points. Contestants must prepare their own speeches and each must be original. Any quote, paraphrased or referenced content must be so identified during the speech presentation.
Applicants must register and submit a 2 minute video to give a brief introduction of themselves and their speech by March 31 2023. The Speech Competition Committee will invite the top 16 finalists to take part in the final contest after reviewing their videos. The finalist will be notified by April 3 2023.
