Layli Long Soldier received a BFA from the Institute of American Indian Arts and an MFA from Bard College. She is the author of WHEREAS (Graywolf Press, 2017), which won the 2018 PEN/Jean Stein Book Award and was short-listed for the National Book Award. Long Soldier has received a Lannan Literary Fellowship, a National Artist Fellowship from the Native Arts and Cultures Foundation, and a Whiting Writers’ Award. She lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Matthew Rohrer is the author of seven collections of poetry, including the most recent The Sky Contains the Plans (Wave Books, 2020) and The Others (Wave Books, 2017), which was the winner of the 2017 Believer Book Award. He is also the author of Satellite (Verse Press, 2001), and co-author, with Joshua Beckman, of Nice Hat. Thanks. (Verse Press, 2002), and the audio CD Adventures While Preaching the Gospel of Beauty. His first book, A Hummock in the Malookas was selected for the National Poetry Series by Mary Oliver in 1994. He teaches in the Creative Writing Program at NYU and lives in Brooklyn.
