MFA Junction: A Joint Reading from the English and Spanish Language MFA Programs
MFA Junction brings together NYU’s English and Spanish MFA in Creative Writing programs for a joint student reading featuring pieces in any genre, up to three minutes, in the language(s) chosen by the author. Readers include Alice Liang, Greta Wilensky, Florencia Davidzon, Susannah Greenblatt, Sara Abadía Alvarado, Alex V. Cruz, Nina Ferraz, Lily Kaylor Honoré, Sara Malagón Llano, and Viviana Kawas Giudicelli. In the case of the texts not in English, a translation by a partner will also be read. Another reading is planned for the Spring at King Juan Carlos Center. The intention of these events is to create an instance where writers from different backgrounds can interact and share their creative projects, in the context of our graduate studies. The reading will be followed by a reception. This event is being organized by MFA Creative Writing students Matt Colburn (English), Nicolás Hip (Spanish), and Jimena Llamas (Spanish).
Open to the public. All attendees are required to RSVP in advance; please click here.

For more than four decades, the English Creative Writing Program has distinguished itself as a leading national center for the study of literature and writing.
Home to an important and diverse Latino and Latin American community, NYU is uniquely situated to offer a graduate Creative Writing Program in Spanish. New York has been a meeting point for Spanish and Latin American writers and journalists since the 19th century and a home to many of them.
