Research Description
My research explores the nexus of feminist philosophy, media studies, and the psychoanalysis of trauma. Using the tools of deconstruction, affect theory, and formal analysis, I venture into the places where language falters; where words fail to capture the singular intensities of bodily experiences. I write towards sensations and pulsations that resist signification and call for translating as an ongoing process that needs multiple and overlapping systems of meaning-- language(s), images, sounds, bodily gestures and movements-- to apprehend traces of trauma and secretions of its symptoms. I pursue this work on many levels: as a feminist activist; energetic healer; performance artist/ dancer; and as a training psychoanalyst at IPTAR.
