Postdoctoral Positions in the Pesaran Lab
Center for Neural Science
New York University
Two postdoctoral positions are available immediately in the Center for Neural Science at New York University for research into the neural mechanisms of sensory-motor behavior and reward-guided decision making. The sensory-motor project will investigate activity in neuronal circuits of the posterior parietal cortex and its relationship to eye-hand coordination using simultaneous multiple area, multiple electrode recordings and optogenetic stimulation in behaving animals. The decision making project will employ patterned electrical microstimulation and multisite spike-LFP-ECoG recordings throughout the mesolimbic circuit to alter circuit activity and decision making behavior.
Qualifications
Successful candidates will be highly motivated, have a PhD in neuroscience or bioengineering, experimental experience in neurophysiology, and experience programming in MATLAB and C. They will benefit from state-of-the-art research facilities and a vibrant community at the Washington Square campus of NYU. Salary will follow or exceed NIH guidelines commensurate with training and experience.
How to Apply
Please send a letter describing research experience and interests, a CV and contact information for three references electronically to Dr. Bijan Pesaran at bijan [AT] nyu [DOT] edu .
