Special Topics: What Makes Decision Making Flexible?
Course Number: NEURL-UA 302
Prerequisite: NEURL-UA 220 (Behavioral & Integrative Neural Science)
Semester: Fall
Description: A hallmark of our decision making is its flexibility. We can adapt our decision making process to be faster or more accurate, we can bias our choices toward more probably or more rewarding options, and we can infer environmental contexts and apply appropriate strategies and rules depending on context. In this seminar course, we explore the neural mechanisms that afford this flexibility. Primary research articles will comprise the majority of the readings, and discussions with explore the strengths and weaknesses of experimental designs, data analysis techniques, and computational models in each article.
Syllabus: Will be available closer to the start of the semester
