Special Topics: Principles of Auditory Processing and Computation
Course Number: NEURL-UA 302
Prerequisite: NEURL-UA 220 (Behavioral & Integrative Neural Science)
Semester: Fall
Description: This course will examine the biophysical and network mechanisms underlying auditory phenomena including coding of sound frequency and intensity, pitch perception, and sound localization. We will examine computations that occur at the various stages of the auditory pathway, from the cochlea to cortex. Students will read primary literature and perform computer simulations with custom programs.
