After more than 30 years, Ronald J. Callahan will be retiring from the NYU Chemistry Faculty this August. Ron spent many years teaching organic chemistry, and he has handled two courses that have provided training for several generations of nurses. Ron is an alumnus of this department, earning his Ph.D under the direction of Graham Underwood in 1989. Known for his gentle demeanor and kindness to students and colleagues alike, Ron was the recipient of several teaching awards, including the 2004 Golden Dozen Teaching Award. It is difficult to imagine the Fall semester rolling around without Ron on the teaching roster, but we thank him for his outstanding service and wish him the very best during this next chapter. Congratulations to Ron!
