The American Chemical Society hosted its annual celebration of National Chemistry Week on October 17-23, 2021, with the theme "Fast or Slow.... Chemistry Makes it Go!" National Chemistry Week is a public awareness campaign that promotes the value of chemistry in everyday life. ACS members and chemistry enthusiasts celebrate NCW by coordinating events and communicating the importance of chemistry. New York University's Draper Chemical Society students have a long history of participation in the local events, usually presenting in-person demos at the New York Hall of Science. This year the event was virtual, and the students rose to the challenge, creating an excellent video demonstration of how gel electrophoresis "makes it go!"

The Draper Chemical Society is an undergraduate club named after John William Draper (1811-1882), NYU Professor of Chemistry, Physiology and Natural Philosophy, and the first President of the American Chemical Society. The 2021 Draper e-board and NCW presenters included Amelia Thein, Tanya Kosheleva, Brianna Somoza, Gabrielle Da Silva. Kudos to them on a great job!
