Stefano Martiniani will join the NYU research faculty in January 2022 as Assistant Professor of Chemistry and Physics. Stefano earned his doctoral degree at the University of Cambridge under the direction of Daan Frenkel and conducted his postdoctoral research right here at NYU's Center for Soft Matter in the lab of Paul Chaikin. He comes to us from the University of Minnesota, where he was Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science. Research in the Martiniani Lab at NYU will focus on the design of novel theoretical and computational frameworks to enable fundamental advances in our understanding of disordered nonequilibrium systems such as amorphous and active material systems.
