NYU Chemistry Professor Emeritus David Schuster shared the second John D. and Edith M. Roberts Memorial Lecture at UCLA in October 2018 with George Whitesides, discussing the early pioneering studies on NMR in the Roberts group at Caltech in the 1950s. At the event, he also presented a solo musical tribute on the piano to Jack and Edith Roberts, featuring the music of Scarlatti, Chopin, Brahms and Debussy.
Professor Schuster also participated in a memorial symposium at Princeton University for former NYU distinguished Professor Kurt Mislow who died last year at age 94. NYU Professor Bart Kahr, who was a doctoral student with Mislow, was one of the featured speakers.
