Congratulations to Stephanie Barros and Nick Sawyer, both researchers in the Arora Lab, on their prestigious postdoctoral fellowships.
Stephanie Barros received a postdoctoral fellowship from the Arnold & Mabel Beckman Foundation. Dr. Barros received her Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. Her thesis project involved recognition of nucleic acid junctions with small molecules. Her current projects at NYU in the Arora Lab involve recognition of biomolecules with synthetic helices.
Nick Sawyer received a postdoctoral fellowship from the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Sawyer is a graduate of Yale University. His Ph.D. dissertation focused on design and selection of tetratricopeptide repeat affinity proteins for detection and quantification of protein phosphorylation. He is now developing synthetic beta-sheet mimics to inhibit protein-protein interactions in the Arora group at NYU.
