Abstract: We will describe “bottom-up” efforts to evaluate the conductivity of porous, extended polymers using single-molecule conductance measurements, towards improved materials for energy storage/conversion or chemical sensing. New strategies to prepare multicomponent self-assembled monolayers as platforms for surface-based reactions will also be discussed.
