NYU Chemistry alumnus Harrison Hayward was the recipient of an AMA Foundation Excellence in Medicine Leadership Award for 2015. The Leadership Awards "are presented this year to 10 medical students, two residents, one fellow, and two early-career physicians in recognition of strong, nonclinical leadership skills in advocacy, community service, public health, and/or education." Harry earned his bachelor's degree from NYU in 2013 (thanks to his Chemistry Department mentor Burt Goldberg for passing along the news) and is currently a student at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. His aspiration is "to have a multi-faceted career as a physician, educator, and leader in global health policy." Obviously having received this honor from the American Medical Association, he is well on his way! |
