PROCEDURE FOR TRANSFER STUDENTS WHO WOULD LIKE TO ENROLL IN ANY CHEMISTRY COURSE THAT HAS A PREREQUISITE
Both Chemistry and non-chemistry majors must submit the course syllabi for all prerequisite chemistry courses that they took at another institution for review and approval by the Chemistry Department before they are permitted to enroll in the chemistry course. General Chemistry I and II and Organic Chemistry I and II must include a laboratory component or a separate laboratory course. The syllabus for the laboratory course must also be submitted. If the previous course does not show up on the student’s NYU transcript as a transfer course, the student must provide an unofficial copy of their school transcript showing the course and final grade earned.
Chemistry majors who wish to receive credit toward their degree for chemistry requirements taken at another institution must, in addition to submitting their course syllabi, also have their transfer course accepted by NYU and it must appear on their transcript as a transfer course.
Syllabi and transcript should be submitted to: Andrea Suero, Adminitrative Aide or Carol Hollingsworth, Academic Program Administrator. Please include the NYU course name and number of the course you are planning to take.
