Study Away Opportunities for Chemistry and Biochemistry Majors

The Chemistry Department supports study away by its majors, and has created pathways which enable students to do so without hindering their progress toward a degree or toward satisfying the pre-health requirements, if relevent.  NYU TEL AVIV

Presently, the best option for Chemistry and Biochemistry majors is to study away at   NYU Tel Aviv (http://www.nyu.edu/global/global-academic-centers/telaviv.html) in   the Spring semester of their sophomore year, when the science courses offered are   the same they would normally take at NYU in New York. They are as   follows: 
 CHEM-UA 9226 Organic Chemistry II
 HBRJD-UA 9072 The Languages of Israel
 PHYS-UA 9012 General Physics II
 XXXX-UA XXXX Research or Elective

NYU London ( http://www.nyu.edu/global/global-academic-centers/london.html ) offers a more limited selection of science courses such as Organic Chemistry and General Physics. Therefore, students considering these two centers for study away should consult with his or her advisor and/or the Director of Undergraduate Studies, to ensure that spending a semester there would not interfere with their progress toward the degree.

Global Public Health/Chemistry Majors

Students majoring in GPH/Chemistry must study away as part of their major. They should consult with their advisor to choose the best location and semester. London and Sydney currently offer UGPH-GU courses as well as Organic Chemistry and General Physics. NYU Tel Aviv will offer UGPH-GU 10 (Health and Society in a Global Context) in the Spring semesters. Other sites offer UGPH-GU courses as well.
