Students majoring in chemistry or biochemistry have numerous options open to them after graduation. Each major provides strong preparation for graduate work toward the master's degree or the doctorate, for careers in academic or industrial research or development, or in teaching. Recent graduates have gone on to prestigious graduate programs at universities such as Caltech, MIT, UPenn and Princeton. Each major also offers a solid foundation for careers in areas like medicine, dentistry, or allied health professions, as is shown by the consistently high acceptance rates to top medical and dental schools that the department's majors achieve. In addition, our graduates are well prepared to pursue intellectual property law or, with a minor in economics, to enter the expanding field of technology investment.
