Alliance for Diversity in Science and Engineering
The Chemical Biology Consortium faculty work closely with ADSE to increase the participation of underrepresented groups (Women, Latinos, African-Americans, Native Americans, the LGBTQA community and persons with disabilities, etc.) in academia, industry, and government. The NYU Chapter of ADSE supports and organizes activities that reach out to students and scientists of all ages and backgrounds. The Chemical Biology Consortium has co- hosted several speakers from non-traditional tracks to introduce our students to non-traditional career paths and underrepresented minority experiences in STEM, and educate students at all levels about opportunities in the sciences. Speakers from the current academic year include Dr. Hilary Crichton of Wiley and Aaron Neal, an educator at Harlem Biospace/Hypothekids (www.hypothekids.org).
