"Photocatalytic Peptide Modification Enabled by a Novel Ir Catalyst"
A novel iridium(III) catalyst, made water-soluble through the incorporation of polyethylene glycol, was synthesized. The utility of this photocatalyst towards bioconjugation was demonstrated by the development of two aqueous methods: alkylation of a dehydroalanine residue using a boronic ester radical precursor and tryptophan beta-position conjugation with a Michael acceptor.
