Mark Siegal, an evolutionary systems biologist in the Center for Genomics and Systems Biology and the Department of Biology at NYU, is in the first cohort of recipients of the MIRA award from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences. The five-year MIRA ("Maximizing Investigators’ Research Award"), issued under NIH's "Outstanding Investigator" mechanism, funds labs not projects, to enable investigators to pursue more ambitious, creative lines of research. The MIRA award will support the Siegal lab's study of genetic and nongenetic variation in complex traits.
Congratulations, Mark!
