CGSB Assistant Professor Christine Vogel's lab recently was awarded a 4-year NIH grant to model protein expression changes. The lab proposes the development of “Robust statistical approaches for decoding protein and mRNA expression regulation”, expanding the PECA framework which enables Protein Expression Control Analysis. While we have more and more large-scale datasets available that describe protein and matching mRNA concentrations over time, we crucially lack the statistical methods to analyze these data and to extract genes that are significantly changing at the mRNA and protein level. The proposed projects address this need.
