The Vogel lab, in collaboration with Dennis Shasha from the NYU Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, received funding for their research on predicting protein degradation. Using a suite of highly targeted experiments, quantitative proteomics and machine learning algorithms, the groups aim to build the first predictive model of protein degradation under stress, including protein modifications by oxidation and ubiquitination and targeting to the proteasome
