Ashley Bate, a Ph.D. student in the Eichenberger laboratory, has received a Communications Prize for best young speaker at the 5th European Spores Conference. The meeting, sponsored by the Society from General Microbiology, was held this year at the Royal Holloway College of the University of London. Ashley presented her work on inferring a model of the transcriptional regulatory network for the bacterium Bacillus subtilis, a collaborative effort between the CGSB labs of Richard Bonneau (with Ph.D. student Alex Greenfield) and Patrick Eichenberger.
