The NYU Center for Genomics and Systems Biology welcomes Dr. Jane Carlton as the newest addition to the faculty. Dr. Carlton, appointed as full professor and Faculty Director of Genomic Sequencing, will continue her groundbreaking work on the comparative genomics of parasites, including Plasmodium vivax and P. falciparum (the agents of malaria), species of Trichomonas, and Cryptosporidium. She heads the multinational NIH-funded Center for the Study of Complex Malaria in India (CSCMi), and was recently conferred the Stoll Stunkard Memorial Award by the American Society of Parasitologists for her outstanding contributions to the field of parasite genomics. Her previous appointments include The Institute for Genomic Research (TIGR) and Director of Genomics at NYU Langone Medical Center. |
