I am interested in how evolution rewires complex gene regulatory networks. My work focuses mainly on understanding how mutation space and regulatory network structure constrain this evolutionary process. To this end, I use a combination of high-throughput microscopy, sequencing, and modeling to understand mutational effects on fitness and other complex traits in yeast. I am also interested in developing new approaches to teaching evolutionary genetics and computational biology to undergraduates.
