Master’s Orientation – an informal introductory reception for incoming M.S. students typically held the first week of classes on Thursday at 3:30 PM. It serves as a welcoming orientation to the Department of Biology and the Master’s of Biology program. Refreshments are served. The Director of M.S. Graduate Studies introduces the M.S. program and discusses degree requirements. Administrative and academic advisers are present to answer questions about the program and tracks within the program.
Master’s Poster Session – held annually in April gives students the opportunity to show their research results to faculty and fellow students. Students doing research in a laboratory are expected to present their work at the poster session, particularly if they took Research or Lab Molecular III/IV. Posters can be printed in the Biology Department office on the 6th floor of the Waverly building. (see FAQ for more information).
Orientation to Career Services for Biology Students – held annually in November is an information session about using the services provided by the NYU Wasserman Center for Career Development for strategizing and networking career opportunities in the field of biology. Hosted by Lisa Wong, Associate Director of the NYU Wasserman Center.
