I'm interested in pursuing graduate studies in paleopathology and forensic anthropology. I plan to pursue a career working with governmental agencies or nongovernmental organizations to investigate and identify victims of crime, warfare (e.g., prisoners of war, missing in action, civilian casualties), and natural disaster. I am interested in revisiting unsolved cases that involve unidentified victims who may have been misgendered. Transgender and nonbinary individuals who are victims of homicide or suicide may remain unidentified for various reasons, including outdated methods for identifying individuals. The binary gender system has affected how victims are perceived and identified. I hope to contribute to the Trans Doe Task Force in the future to aid in unidentified transgender and gender-variant missing persons.
