Tierney Brown

After an undergraduate in functional anatomy and skeletal biology at George Washington University, DC, Tierney refocused her attention to the creation of authority in science, and moved from biological structures to cultural compositions. She spent two years as a research assistant in Anthropology and Globalization at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History before coming to NYU. While there she also pursued her own interests in Tibetan material culture, studying manuscripts in the anthropology collection and working with conservators and materials scientists to parse the landscapes of plant, mineral, and human interaction. In her free time she enjoys photography, bad 90's television, and yearns for snowy mountain ranges.
