My research probes the routine invocation of colonial legalities and their many variations in contemporary India to ask how affective indices of threat, suspicion, and speech acquire evidentiary status in public life. More broadly, I am interested in the anthropology of media, law, and the human senses, their histories, and ricochets within democracies and everyday life. My earlier research (M.A and M.Phi) was on the Anthropology of Sport and Public Spheres in Kolkata.
