PhD in Sociocultural Anthropology
Before coming to NYU, Chantal White earned her MA in linguistics from l’Université de Moncton in 2006. Her M.A. thesis dealt with the linguistic practices and representations of heritage tourism workers in Chéticamp, an Acadian coastal village in Nova Scotia. While in Moncton, Chantal worked as a research assistant on Speaking Out II: The Canadian Francophonie and the New Economy, a three-part multi-sited research project coordinated by Monica Heller at the University of Toronto.
