In the spring 2020 semester at the Lillian Vernon Creative Writers House at NYU, Anne Carson with Bob Currie offered a seminar called “Egocircus, a Workshop in Collaboration.” In March of that year, like every class at NYU, it was moved online. Two and a half years later, twelve or so of us are still meeting but have become a kind of arts collective—a lab for the trying out and critiquing of ideas in art making.
On September 16 and 17 we will present a number of duet pieces made in a variety of media with the common theme of salt, to be shown in various rooms in the Writers House. Most members of our collective are graduates of the MFA writing program (plus some latecomers, returnees and others of unknown provenance. (Note that each night's performance will be the same as the other.)
*Several of the performances will take place on the second and third floors of the Writers House, which are not ADA accessible
