Hey there! My name is Kristina and I’m the new intern in the Cultural Department at Deutsches Haus at NYU. I’ve just completed my Master’s in Media Studies and I have a Bachelor’s degree in Literature, Art and Media Studies.
Having studied in Konstanz and Regensburg, and being born and raised in Bamberg, which are all very small towns in the south of Germany, it was a great step for me to come to New York. This is my first time here and I just arrived on Saturday, so I am still clearly overwhelmed by this vibrating, energetic, huge and fascinating city.
As I love reading, writing, theater, museums, galleries and film, I am excited about all the cultural possibilities that New York has to offer. I am sure that the cosmopolitan and creative environment not only of the city but also of Deutsches Haus, where so many artists – writers, poets, filmmakers, photographers etc. – come and go, will make my three months here an unforgettable time.
I am therefore not only looking forward to exploring the city but also to working in such a nice team at Deutsches Haus and to all the exciting events we have planned for this spring term. The internship gives me an amazing opportunity to meet interesting people and to participate in the cultural exchange between the German speaking world and the United States.
