Hi everybody! My name is Cem and I am one of the new interns of the Cultural Program at Deutsches Haus at NYU. I am an undergraduate in business administration at the Technical University Dortmund, which is located in Germany’s Ruhr area. The Ruhr area is one of the great melting pots in Western Germany. Now, before starting my master’s program at the end of the year, I have the pleasure of doing an internship at Deutsches Haus. It is my first time in the United States and I am very happy to have the chance to do an internship in one of the coolest cities in the world. Since I have a German and also a Turkish background, I know what it means to experience, learn, and live in two different cultures. Therefore, spending six weeks at Deutsches Haus and participating in mediating between different German-speaking cultures and New Yorkers, is a great privilege and joy. Moreover, it has always been a dream of mine to come to the USA and experience its culture at first hand.
So, I am looking forward to the upcoming time and am delighted to be a part of this wonderful team here at Deutsches Haus. I hope to see many of you at our future events.
