Alice Goheneix Polanski (PhD, Sciences Po, 2011) has worked extensively on French colonial language policy and linguistic “assimilation” in French West Africa (AOF), Algeria and Indochina, as well as on the colonial origins of “la Francophonie”. She has been research fellow at IRSEM (Institut de Recherche Stratégique de l’Ecole Militaire), assistant-lecturer at the University of Rouen (2008-2010) and at Sciences Po (2010-2011). She is currently working on a comparison between the French and British colonial linguistic practices. Her research findings have been published in
