Youssef El Chazli is a Junior Research Fellow at the Crown Center for Middle East Studies, Brandeis University. His research in political sociology focuses on the emergence and development of a protest arena in Egypt’s second city during the 2000s and how the revolutionary upheaval unfolded in early 2011.
Muriam Haleh Davis is Assistant Professor History at the University of California, Santa Cruz. She is a specialist of Algerian history and recently co-edited a volume with Bloomsbury Press entitled, North Africa and the Making of Europe: Governance, Institutions and Culture.
Choukri Hmed is a political sociologist at the Université de Paris-Dauphine. He is currently a visiting professor at NYU’s Institute of French Studies where he teaches a course on France foreign relationships with the Global South. His research explores political mobilizations by immigrant workers in France in the 1970s and 1980s, the Tunisian revolution from 2010 to 2016, and more.
