April 2019: Congratulations to our 2019 Honors students!
EVE ESSEX is a Brooklyn-based musician who performs with alto saxophone, piccolo, voice and electronics, harnessing elements of classical. drone, avant-jazz, and distorted pop. Her first solo album, Here Appear, was released by Soap Library (cassette) and Sky Walking (LP) in 2018.
JJMRDR is a joint venture between J. Martin Daughtry and Joel Rust. J. MARTIN DAUGHTRY is a professor of music and sound studies at NYU. He teaches and writes on acoustic violence, human and nonhuman vocality, jazz, Russian-language sound poetry, the auditory imagination, and air. JOEL RUST is a composer, sound artist, and PhD candidate at NYU. He is currently working on The Conifers, a post-anthropocene opera written with poet David Troupes, and his dissertation on Varese and the soundscapes of early twentieth century cities.
S.S. SANDHU will be playing nervous Teutonica, depressed dub, and the dreams of Dan Treacy.
