Please join Professors Hala Halim and Mark Sanders in a toast to celebrate the official approval of the new CALAMEGS advanced certificate! This event will be held in the 3rd Floor Comp Lit event space at 19 University Place on Thursday, November 1, 5:30-7:30pm.
CALAMEGS (Comparative Approaches to the Literatures of Africa, the Middle East, and Global South) has been in the making for the past two years. The pilot introductory seminar for CALAMEGS was taught jointly by Professors Halim and Sanders in Spring 2018, and attracted students in Comp. Lit., English, and Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies. The course will be taught by Professor Halim in Spring 2019, when a speaker series relating to the course, and a student-organized CALAMEGS conference, are also planned.
This event is open to all Comp Lit faculty and grads.
