Map Element component
TO LOAD THE COMPONENT
To load Map Element component onto the page:
- Open Side Panel if closed, and then click on Components tab
- Drag and drop the Map Element component.

To configure the component
To configure the Map Element component:
- Click on the component to display the Configure icon (wrench).
- Click on Configure icon (wrench) to open the Map Element Configure panel.
- Populate the necessary fields:
- Map Title: Title of the component
- Location Title: Disabled
- Address Line 1 & 2: Will be displayed below the Map Title
- City: Will be displayed below the Map Title
- State: Only accept two letters' state initial. Will be displayed below the Map Title
- Zip: 5 digits zip code. Will be displayed below the Map Title
- Map Image: map image for the location. Some map images are already created under the DAM's defaultImages directory (defaultImages > mapImages) If the location's map image is missing, you can reach out to us via as.communications@nyu.edu so we can create a map image with the colored pin for you.
- Latitude: Will not be displayed on the map. This is to generate a proper link to the Google map. Read below to learn more on how to obtain the latitude.
- Longitude: Will not be displayed on the map. This is to generate a proper link to the Google map. Read below to learn more on how to obtain the longitude.
- Click Done icon (check mark) to save your progress. This should close the configure panel and display the component as authored.


How to obtain latitude and longitude
- Go to Google Maps
- Search using the address
- Copy the map link
- Using the map link, latitude is
the positive while the longitude is the negative:
