On this page, we will explain how to use the Zoom Hold Screen image that you obtain from either the Google Slide or from the Zoom Hold Screen generator. This tutorial only covers how to use the image on a PC.
Use the Zoom Hold Screen image
- Obtain the Zoom Hold Screen. Make sure you have obtained the Zoom Hold Screen image and save it on your computer.
- Choose a browser to hold the Zoom Hold Screen image. Choose a browser that you are not going to use for this session and open it. You are going to use it to display the Zoom Hold Screen image. We recommend a browser that you are not actively using.
- Open the image in the browser window. Once the browser window is opened, click on File > Open File, and choose the Zoom Hold Screen image from your computer. For Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge on Windows, you can drag and drop the image onto the browser window directly.
- Make the browser screen full screen. Under View, select Enter Full Screen so the browser will take up the whole screen. Please take note on how to exit the full screen with the keyboard shortcut. You will need it later.
- Return to Zoom. Return to Zoom by using the Start Bar (Windows) or Dock (Mac), you can also use Alt+Tab (Windows) or Expose (Mac) if you are stuck in the browser full screen in Step 4.
- Share your screen in Zoom. Click on Share Your Screen, choose the browser with the Zoom Hold Screen image and share it by clicking the Share button at the lower right.
- When the session starts......
- Stop sharing your screen. When the session is ready to start, simply stop sharing your screen by clicking on Stop Share in the Zoom option bar. (In case you are stuck in the browser full screen, you can exit the full screen in the browser by pressing F11 key (Windows) or Control + Command + F (Mac).)
- Continue to share your screen for this session. If you are planning to continue to share your screen for the session, you should select New Share and select your desire screen to share. Please note that if you exit the full screen and close the browser window will result in stop sharing your screen completely. (In case you are stuck in the browser full screen, you can exit the full screen in the browser by pressing F11 key (Windows) or Control + Commend + F (Mac).)

Recommendation:
- When you select a browser to display the hold screen image (step 2), we recommend a browser that you're not actively using during that time. This is to avoid confusion when you stop sharing the screen and meeting participants might see other content on the screen.
- Make sure you first minimize all windows or close any program that you are not going to use before the session (before step 4) to avoid exposing any unnecessary information through email or the document that you are working on.
- We strongly suggest you practice the setup before a real session, especially on how to return to Zoom in the browser full-screen mode (step 5) and how to stop sharing or continue to share a different screen (step 7). The practice will give you more experience on how to run this smoothly. To practice, you simply can start a one-man meeting by opening the Zoom and start a new meeting. You can lock the meeting by going to Security > Lock meeting so you can practice without interference.
