Open/edit a page

AEM has a Touch UI interface, so a single click on a page (Card) will ONLY open the page and bring you down the content tree (Fig. 1), it will NOT open the page in Edit mode. If you see a blank screen while navigating the site, it means you have reached the last page in the content tree.

To edit a page, make sure you use one of the Open/Edit methods:

1. Navigate to the page location. Hover on the page card and then click on the Open button (pencil) to open the page in Edit mode.
2. Navigate to the page, click on Select on the Action bar (at the top of the page), and then single click on the page to select it. Finally, from the Action bar, click on Open to open the page in Edit mode.

Note: We recommend the new Touch UI interface. We do not encourage user switch back to Classic UI, and will not be able to answer any questions regarding the Classic UI.

Back to the Admin panel

In most situations, your open/edit page should open in a new tab, so you just need to switch back to the admin panel tab if you need to access other pages/sections. However, if you accidentally closed that page, you can follow these steps to navigate back to the AEM admin panel. (Fig. 2)

• Click on Page Information at the upper left corner
• Click on View in Admin link
• The AEM admin panel will open in a new tab with the page you're working on  pre-selected.
