Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) comes with a Touch UI interface. Users should familiarize themselve with the interface and teminology in order to fully utilize the system.
Basic teminology of AEM
Admin Portal
Left hand rail
Allows user to navigate between Sites and Assets sections.
Global Navigation Bar
Displays the user's current location within Sites. It also provides links to Help, Marketing Cloud Solutions, Notifications and User Settings.
Action Bar
Provides context sensitive action such as select page, create new page, move a page, etc. User can also switch between Card, List or Column view by using the Switch View button on the right.
Content Area
Displays all available pages (Cards) within the current level.
Page Editor
Side Panel
The Side Panel contains the Assets repository and the Components list. Users can drag asset(s) or component(s) from here to the content area on the right.
Action Bar
Action Bar allows users to toggle the Side Panel, provides page-specific action in Page Information, and switches between Edit mode and Preview mode.
Edit bar
Edit bar activates when the user clicks on a component. It provides component-specific functions such as Rich Text Editor, Configure Panel, copy, paste, delete, etc.
Configured component
A configured component will display already authored content with pre-defined style.
Unconfigured component
An unconfigured component is grey and will only display in Edit mode.
Parasys
A Parasys indicates an area where the user can insert components. Users can also double click on the Parasys to open the component list
