Hoyer publishes dissertation on Roman economy
Daniel Hoyer, who received his doctorate from NYU Classics in 2014, has just published his dissertation with Brill. In the work, Money, Culture, and Well-Being in Rome's Economic Development, 0-275 CE, Hoyer offers an economic history of imperial Rome that engages with case studies, social scientific theory, and various indicators of economic performance. Hoyer is currently the project manager of the Seshat: Global History Databank Project, a large-scale, interdisciplinary and comparative project hosted by the Evolution Institute and the University of Oxford.
