Barchiesi gives 27th Bodnar lecture
On October 16, Alessandro Barchiesi gave the 27th Annual Bodnar Lecture at Georgetown University on 'Dividing Lines, Imperial Horizons in Vergil's Aeneid' (part of his project on 'Virgilian Geopoetics'). His next speaking engagement is a talk on 'Autography: Ovid, Petrarch, Boccaccio' at Berlin's Freie Universität (December 16), in a symposion called 'Excessive Writing: Ovid in Exile' that will be one of the last, or perhaps the last chapter in the long-drawn Ovidian bimillenary.
