The Department of Chemistry at New York University invites applications for highly motivated individuals to teach as Adjunct Faculty (non-tenure track) on a part-time basis in Organic Chemistry or related subdiscipline. This is a 1.5 month summer teaching position. The appointment will begin on July 3, 2024.
The Department of Chemistry at NYU is a leading center for teaching and research. We have undertaken a major development plan, strengthening our faculty, instructional laboratories, course offerings, and research facilities. Our areas of teaching and research encompass physical, biophysical, bioorganic, and biomedical chemistry, as well as chemical biology, nanoscience, and materials sciences. We have over 300 undergraduate students that have declared majors in chemistry or biochemistry as well as 120 graduate students. Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline.
Responsibilities include teaching as Instructor of Record for Organic Chemistry II Lecture Portion during the NYU Summer Session 2 (07/03/24-08/15/24) preparing exams and quizzes, grading, holding regular office hours with students, and participating in course planning sessions. Supervising recitation instructors.
