Joel Bernstein, 1941-2019
Joel Bernstein, Global Distinguished Professor of Chemistry at NYU Abu Dhabi, former Barry and Carol Kaye Professor of Applied Science at Ben‐Gurion University, and citizen of the world, passed away on Janury 2, 2019. Read his obituary here:

Joel's passing touched many at NYU here in NYC who were his colleagues and friends, and his loss was felt keenly by the community who gathered for the 24th International Conference on the Chemistry of the Organic Solid State, where Joel had been slated to open the proceedings with one of his famously excellent lectures. Instead, the Joel Bernstein Memorial Symposium was held to remember Joel's scienitific accomplishments as well as his personal warmth and joie de vivre. The program follows:
