The Department of Physics at New York University invites applications for faculty positions in the general area of quantum condensed matter and atomic molecular and optical physics, including, but not limited to, quantum materials, quantum devices, quantum optics and photonics, as well as research with connections to quantum information. These positions are part of an initiative for further significant growth in these areas in the Center for Quantum Phenomena in the department.

A postdoctoral position is available in Prof. Andrew Kent’s research group in the Center for Quantum Phenomena of the Department of Physics. The research focus is on magnetic materials and devices that can generate truly random stochastic fluctuations for use in large-scale brain-inspired computing architecture. The successful candidate will work with national lab and university teams with expertise in probabilistic computing algorithms and architectures, scanning tunneling microscopy, magnetic materials, nanofabrication and modeling.
